How to increase online revenue with SEO: where to find organic growth opportunities

Growth in organic traffic does not always lead to higher revenue. A website may receive more visits from Google without seeing a corresponding increase in leads or sales.

SEO creates business value when it brings relevant users to pages that help them take the next step: submit an inquiry, contact the company, or make a purchase. That is why the role of search engine optimization is not only to improve website rankings, but also to identify the points where organic demand can influence sales, average order value, and repeat purchases.

Start with revenue, not rankings

The revenue of an online business can be simplified into three key metrics: the number of qualified visitors, the percentage of those visitors who make a purchase, and the average order value. SEO can influence each of these metrics.

For example, a website receives 20,000 organic visits per month. If 1.2% of visitors make a purchase and the average order value is UAH 2,400, the estimated revenue is UAH 576,000. If traffic remains unchanged but the share of buyers increases to 1.6%, revenue rises to UAH 768,000. The difference is UAH 192,000, or approximately 33%.

This is a simplified example, but it clearly illustrates an important point: growth does not have to come only from increasing traffic. It can also come from improving traffic quality and making landing pages more effective.

Search queries with purchase intent

Not all keywords have the same business value. A person searching for general information about a problem may not yet be ready to purchase a service. By contrast, queries containing words such as “price,” “cost,” “order,” “service,” or “comparison” are often used by people who are already considering a specific solution.

That is why SEO analysis should include a separate review of these queries: whether relevant landing pages exist, whether the page content matches the user’s intent, and whether it is clear what action the visitor can take next.

Pages that already have potential in Google

A quick growth opportunity may come from pages that already appear in search results but do not fully capitalize on their visibility. For example, a page may regularly appear in Google Search but receive relatively few clicks. In that case, it is worth reviewing the page title and meta description shown in search results.

Another scenario is when a page receives a significant amount of traffic but generates very few leads. In that case, the issue may not be SEO itself, but the page structure, content, inquiry form, or lack of a clear next step.

Content for different stages of the decision‑making journey

Customers rarely move directly from their first informational query to a purchase. They usually begin by trying to understand the problem, then explore possible solutions, compare different approaches, review examples of previous work, and only then choose a company or product. That is why website content should support the entire journey: problem → possible solutions → comparison → examples of results → service or product. A blog article should not be the end of the user journey. It should help users move on to a relevant solution, service, case study, or another useful piece of content.

Pages closest to the sale

For an ecommerce business, these may include category pages, product pages, brand pages, and curated product collections. For service businesses, they may include service pages, solution pages, industry pages, and case studies. On these pages, it is important to work not only with keywords. You should also review the information structure, proof of expertise, answers to common questions, contact forms, and clear calls to action.

If a page already receives relevant organic traffic, even a small increase in the percentage of visitors who submit an inquiry or make a purchase can generate additional revenue without increasing the advertising budget.

Internal links between content and services

Blog articles often bring informational traffic, but on their own, they do not necessarily generate sales. That is why it is important to logically connect them with relevant services and solutions offered by the company. For example, an article about why website visitors do not submit inquiries can lead to a website audit service, while a piece about why competitors rank higher on Google can be linked to SEO services. This way, the blog becomes part of the customer journey rather than simply a library of articles.

Which metrics connect SEO with revenue

Evaluating SEO only by website rankings is not enough.

From a business perspective, it is important to track:

  • the number of organic visits to target pages;
  • the click‑through rate from search results;
  • the number of leads or purchases;
  • revenue from the organic channel;
  • average order value.

For example, a page receives 5,000 organic visits and generates 25 sales. After changes to the page structure and the way the offer is presented, it begins generating 40 sales with the same amount of traffic. The number of transactions increases by 60%, even though the website receives no additional traffic.

What to optimize first

The highest priority should be given to pages where three factors are present at the same time: search demand, business value, and a realistic opportunity for improvement. For one page, this may mean improving rankings for commercial queries. For another, it may mean increasing the number of clicks from Google. For a third, it may mean improving the percentage of visitors who become customers. That is why SEO should not be evaluated in isolation. It should be analyzed together with user behavior and sales performance.

SEO can increase revenue without requiring a proportional increase in advertising spend if the focus goes beyond traffic volume alone. Key growth opportunities may include commercial search queries, pages that already have search visibility, content for different stages of the decision‑making journey, service pages, and internal linking between content and commercial pages. That is why the main question behind an SEO strategy should not be “How can we get more visitors?” but rather: “Which organic visits can bring more customers to the business, and what needs to change on the website to make that happen?”

    When I started working as a consultant for a cosmetics distributor, one of our tasks was to create a website for the brand. Room15 Digital was one of the potential contractors we considered, and we began with a test task. Already at that stage, I liked the team’s approach, especially the project manager’s work and the quality of communication. As an eCommerce consultant, I had many technical questions, and each of them received clear and structured feedback. In 2026, an online store itself is no longer something unique — the difference is in the details. Room15’s attention to detail, process and communication left a very positive impression.

    We run an online store that constantly needs development and technical improvements to stay competitive. In the past, we had issues with website promotion and updates: tasks were often delivered late or not completed properly, and working with technical specialists and SEO agencies was difficult. After we started working with Room15 Digital, this problem disappeared. The team handles tasks responsibly, delivers quality work and helps us keep the website moving forward. I can sincerely recommend this studio.

    At some point, we realized that the project needed systematic development: a clear structure, logic and a better user experience. It was important for us to build an intuitive learning platform, so we turned to Room15 Digital as a team with experience in expert‑driven products. The team completely reworked the website and prepared the platform for scaling. As a result, it became clearer, more user‑friendly and better adapted to the learning process. We especially value Room15 Digital’s systematic approach and clear communication throughout the project.

    Our website was the main source of client acquisition, but due to poor optimization and low conversion, it wasn’t fulfilling its key purpose. We needed a reliable digital partner who could take ownership of the process end to end. Room15 conducted an audit, identified the key issues and prepared a clear action plan. The collaboration helped us increase traffic, improve conversion and turn the website into a more effective client acquisition channel.

    We have been working with Room15 since 2018, and for me, the value of this partnership is not only in development, but also in a transparent process. The team communicates quickly, provides clear feedback, plans work effectively and keeps all tasks tracked. As a result, I always understand what is happening on the project and where we are in the process.

    Room15 Digital tripled our website traffic in less than a year and improved conversion after the redesign. This brought us not just more traffic, but real sales — around 30% of our orders now come from organic search.

    I wasn’t immediately sure about investing in a website redesign, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions for our business. After launch, we saw the real potential of online sales: the number of orders grew significantly. I’m very satisfied with the result and recommend Room15 as a team that deeply understands the client’s business and delivers real outcomes.

    We are very satisfied with Room15’s work on the project. At the beginning, we only had an idea and an understanding that the niche was quite complex and competitive. But together with the Room15 team, within six months we managed to identify growth opportunities, develop a strategy for the project’s overall development, and start working on bringing the concept to life.
    I really appreciate the team’s approach, because they are not just executors — they are people who truly think, understand what they are doing, and care about the result.
